Loch Lomond & Five Peters

/ in Videos

So I realized I haven’t done a folk song in a while and you all have been requesting Loch Lomond for SUCH a long time now and you have all been EXTREMELY patient about it too. Well, finally, here it is as requested!

This song has actually been in the works for 2 years now, it’s been heavily requested, and I thought it would be a good time to release it because of those requests, but ALSO because I noticed we were coming close to Robbie Burns’ Birthday (January 25th, 1759). If you don’t know, he was known as the national poet of Scotland and known for works such as A Red, Red Rose.

So I am SO happy to get this out to you guys! In the future, I still want to release a folk song album (maybe YOU can help me with which tunes to include!), it has just gotten a little complicated, but it absolutely will happen!

I got together with Fifgen and we shot the video here in Eugene, Oregon on a family friends’ property. And you know what?? We got SOOO wet!…and we were freezing the entire time! But, it was absolutely worth it. I adore this song, it’s so much fun to sing and I really enjoyed this arrangement (thanks Tom!).

This was made with 44 tracks and 5 Peter Hollens’! Haha, but for real, let me know if you guys like the clones more than the usual boxes! I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on that! I kind of like it personally, but you mean the world to me, so I’m curious to know what you think!!

What is your favorite folk song? Have I covered it yet? I’d love to know in the comments below! 😀
