My Tribute to Linkin Park & Chester Bennington

When I heard the news about Linkin Park’s lead singer, Chester Bennington, my heart sank. He passed away just a few weeks ago on July 20th. He was such an incredible musician with endless talent, and the world will miss him greatly. After finding out about this tragedy, I immediately knew that I wanted to make a tribute video in honor of Chester, Linkin Park, their families, and their fans. In the music industry, I think we as artists have an important duty to support each other – during the good times and the dark times… This is my way of doing so.

I have struggled with depression and mental health issues for my entire life… I think we get so caught up in our physical health and our appearance that we ignore mental health far too often. Society treats it like something to be ashamed of… I’m here to tell you it is okay. We all go through rough times in life, and it’s normal. Never forget that you are amazing, and you are valued. Even in your darkest times.

If you are battling mental illness, do NOT be afraid to reach out. You are not alone. Please call the number below if you or someone you know needs help. I’m here for you too, and I’d love to hear about your story.

I’ve been a fan of Linkin Park and Chester forever, and I hope this video makes them proud. My hope is that they’ll be able to see this video! Let them know about it by using the hashtags #RIPChester & #LinkinParkTribute and tagging @linkinpark. ❤

If you haven’t seen it yet, I recently covered one of the band’s most popular songs, Heavy, with the phenomenal singer Jamie Grace! It was an honor to sing that song and the lyrics carry so much power, especially now as I look back at it. One of Linkin Park’s band members even makes a special appearance at the end of the video (talk about a fanboy moment for me!)

Personally, I have many memories of listening to Linkin Park’s music throughout the years… ‘In the End’ was one of the first songs my college a cappella group ever sang, and we were able to perform it all over the country. That is something I will never forget! Do you have a favorite memory of Linkin Park’s music or a favorite LP song? I’d love to hear all about it! 🙂
Sending light, love, and peace to all of you!
